Green function

Function that maximizes energy savings. The water heater works exclusively as a heat pump, heating domestic water up to 62 °C

Boost function

Function that reduces the water heater heating times to a minimum, increasing sanitary comfort. The machine works simultaneously as a heat pump and electric resistance, speeding up the heating of the water. Once the maximum operating temperature of the heat pump is exceeded, the electric resistance continues to heat up to the water set-point temperature.

Auto Mode

Function that allows the best compromise of comfort and savings. The machine optimizes the heat pump and resistance activation logic.

Anti-legionella function

This function provides automatic disinfection cycles. On a monthly basis the machine starts a check and, if necessary, heats the domestic water up to 65°C, maintaining it at this temperature until any bacterial proliferation in the tank is destroyed.

Hourly programming of withdrawals

This is the function that allows you to program times and water temperatures to your liking. The water heater will reach the chosen temperature at the preferred time (up to two times can be programmed): the process will give priority to heating via the heat pump and, only if necessary, will take place via the electric resistors.

Ariston has long chosen the path of ecology and for this reason has been investing, for years now, in the most cutting-edge technology existing in the sector.
The new NUOS heat pump water heaters were therefore born from research: efficient and capable of heating a large quantity of water using very little electricity, as they absorb heat directly from the outside air.

The NUOS range of heat pump water heaters is available in both monobloc and split versions (i.e. with external unit), which can be installed both on the wall and on the floor and with capacities ranging from 80 up to 300 litres. In new buildings the NUOS range can also be used as an alternative to solar thermal as a renewable energy source.

Heat pump technology

The NUOS range uses a thermodynamic cycle to heat the water contained in the kettle through the air sucked in by the heating unit, reversing the natural flow of heat. A refrigerant fluid (R134A), through changes in state and compression and expansion cycles, takes the heat contained in the air at a lower temperature and transfers it to the domestic water at a higher temperature. This mechanism is the reverse of the one used in refrigerators. The electrical energy required by the product is only that necessary to operate the fan which captures the air and the compressor which circulates the refrigerant in the circuit.

As required by national law, in newly constructed buildings it is necessary to satisfy at least 50% of the energy needs used to heat domestic water with a renewable source. (DL no. 28 of 3 March 2011 based on the RES directive 2009/28/EC). The technology used in NUOS heat pump water heaters is an ideal choice to satisfy these legal obligations, representing an advantageous alternative to solar thermal . It constitutes a valid response even where there are installation limitations due to poor solar exposure of the building.

Thermal Energy Account

As an alternative to tax breaks, again in the case of replacement of an electric water heater, the end user can request the incentive provided by the Thermal Energy Account, as a capital contribution. The incentive is provided by the GSE (Energy Services Manager) through bank transfer and corresponds to 40% of the costs incurred for the purchase and installation-related costs, up to a maximum of €400 in a single solution for the replacement of an electric water heater with a heat pump one with a capacity of up to 150 liters; for capacities greater than 150 liters the reimbursement is in one year if the value of the incentive is less than €600, in two years if it is greater than €600 (the maximum value of the incentive is €700). Economic saving

Considering the European regulatory withdrawal profiles, it was estimated that the annual energy consumption dedicated to the production of domestic hot water for a family of 3 people is equal to 1,550 kWh / year.

Convenient investment

An efficient product consumes less; it follows that, compared to an electric water heater of the same volume, there are energy savings and
economical up to 75%. NUOS is therefore an ideal investment that generally pays for itself in around 3 years. Furthermore, for those who benefit from tax breaks, the recovery times of the investment are significantly reduced.

Energy saving

NUOS manages to extract clean energy from the air and uses it to heat water, consuming only 30% of the electricity needed compared to a traditional water heater. It has been estimated that the installation of a NUOS 80 heat pump water heater allows a reduction of 480 kg/year of CO2 linked to electricity production processes. The same effect would be obtained from the absorption of CO2 by 40 trees.
